Smith
Island Crab Skiff Race

Visible from the Foot
of High Street - free
Come see some of the coolest little boats on the
Chesapeake race and parade on the Chestertown waterfront. Originally
built to dredge crabs in the waters of Tangier Sound, Smith Island Crab
Skiff s have now been re-fit for racing and feature some proportionately huge engines! The Crab Skiff s will also
be on exhibit on the waterfront the entire day.

British Marines

Sponsored by Kent County Arts Council
Visitors to Downrigging Weekend will be able to observe
an historic encampment and cannon demonstrations by The British Marines. The Marines are a small, elite band of
reenactors with an emphasis on rendering an historically accurate
impression of 18th century battle, living history, and naval oriented
events. Look for The British Marines on the lawn behind the Custom House
at the Foot of High Street.

cannon on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00am and again at 2:30pm. Cannon
demonstrations will be held either at the Foot of
High Street or in Wilmer Park.

Several model boat societies and clubs will be sailing a
variety of remote control model sailboats on the Chestertown waterfront
on Sunday, October 30. Clubs scheduled to participate include:
