Chestertown -

From Washington, Annapolis and Baltimore:

Take Route 50 East over the Bay Bridge. Follow Route 50 over Kent Island to the Rt. 50/301 split. At the split, bear left onto 301 North. Take 301 North to the exit for 213 North/Centreville. Take the second exit ramp onto 213 North. Follow 213 North for approximately 15 miles to Chestertown. After crossing the Chester River bridge, turn left at the first traffic light onto Cross St. Go one block to the next stop light at the intersection of Cross and High Streets. Turn left onto High St. and travel three blocks to the small parking lot at the end of the road. Park and walk over the foot bridge which parallels the Chester River to Sultana's dock at the foot of Cannon St.

From Points South (Easton, Salisbury):

Take Route 50 West, past Easton, to the traffic light across from Chesapeake College. Turn right at the light onto Route 213 North (Centreville). Take 213 for about 20 miles to the Chester River Bridge. Go over the bridge and into Chestertown. Turn left at the first traffic light onto Cross St. Go one block to the next stop light at the intersection of Cross and High Streets. Turn left onto High St. and travel three blocks to the small parking lot at the end of the road. Park and walk over the foot bridge which parallels the Chester River to Sultana's dock at the foot of Cannon St.

From Philadelphia and Points North:

Take I-95 South to Delaware exit 1A (Middletown). Follow Route 896 South until it turns into Route 301 South. Get off at the Chestertown/Galena exit (Route 290). At the traffic light in Galena, go straight - the road becomes Route 213 South. Follow 213 South into Chestertown. Turn right at the fourth light after entering Chestertown (Cross St. - past Washington College). Go one block to the next stop light at the intersection of Cross and High Streets. Turn left onto High St. and travel three blocks to the small parking lot at the end of the road. Park and walk over the foot bridge which parallels the Chester River to Sultana's dock at the foot of Cannon St.

Cambridge -

From Points North:
Take Route 50 East over the Choptank River Bridge (if there is a passenger in the car they will be able to see Sultana to the right on the Cambridge waterfront). Turn right on Maryland Ave. shortly after crossing the bridge. Follow Maryland Ave. to Poplar Street. Turn right on Poplar Street and follow to High Street. Turn right on High Street and follow to the Water. Sultana will be on your right.


FOLLOW ALL SIGNS TO SKIPJACK NATHAN OF DORCHESTER. SULTANA IS DOCKED RIGHT NEXT TO THE NATHAN OF DORCHESTER

Salisbury -

Take Route 50 East to Salisbury and follow into the middle of the city. Look for a traffic light at Lake Street. Turn right onto Lake Street and follow to the water. Sultana will be directly in front of you.

 

Annapolis -

From the Eastern Shore:

Take 50 West over the Bay Bridge. Follow 50W over the Severn River Bridge to Exit 24, Rt. 70/Rowe Blvd (towards Annapolis - the second exit ramp). Take Rowe Blvd through two traffic lights and over the small bridge crossing College Creek. Veer right immediately following the bridge and go straight through one traffic light. The second light will bring you to Church Circle. Turn right onto Church Circle, then take your 4th right onto Duke of Gloucester St. Go through one light and turn left into the Noah Hillman Parking garage. A six hour stay there will cost you $5. To get to Sultana, follow Main St. to the water, bear left, then turn right up Dock St. Follow to the end of Dock St., where Sultana will be resting on the left hand side of the City Dock.

From D.C. and Points West:

Take 50 east to Exit 24, Rt. 70/Rowe Blvd. Veer right on the exit ramp towards Annapolis. At this point, follow the directions in bold given above.

From Baltimore and Points North:

Take I-97 South to Route 50 east. Take 50 east to Exit 24, Rt. 70/Rowe Blvd. Veer right on the exit ramp towards Annapolis. At this point, follow the directions in bold given above.

 

Solomons: The Calvert Marine Museum (Waterman's Wharf)-

When visiting the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, Maryland, the schooner Sultana Sails from the “Waterman’s Wharf” adjacent to the University of Maryland’s Chesapeake Biological Laboratory

From Washington, D.C.
Take State Route 4 South from the Washington Beltway to State Route 2-4 to Solomons.  Once in Solomons, stay in the right lane of Route 2-4.  It will exit to Route 2, passing under the Thomas Johnson Bridge.  Make a left, drive approximately 200 yards to a stop sign. The entrance to the Calvert Marine Museum will be directly in front of you.  Turn right and continue on Route 2/ Solomons Island Road to Williams Road. Turn left on Williams Road and follow to Waterman’s Wharf at the end of the street.

 

From Baltimore
Take Interstate 97 south from the Baltimore Beltway, to State Route 3 and U.S. Route 301 south to State Route 4.  Continue south/east to State Route 2-4 to Solomons.  Once in Solomons, stay in the right lane of Route 2-4.  It will exit to Route 2, passing under the Thomas Johnson Bridge.  Make a left, drive approximately 200 yards to a stop sign. The entrance to the Calvert Marine Museum will be directly in front of you.  Turn right and continue on Route 2/ Solomons Island Road to Williams Road. Turn left on Williams Road and follow to Waterman’s Wharf at the end of the street.

You can also take I-97 south to the Aris T. Allen Boulevard exit (Route 665), then follow signs for Solomons Island, Route 2 South.  Go south on Route 2, following signs for Prince Frederick.  Route 2 will join with Route 4 - make a left from Route 2 onto Route 2-4 South.  Follow Route 2-4 South to Solomons. Once in Solomons, stay in the right lane of Route 2-4.  It will exit to Route 2, passing under the Thomas Johnson Bridge.  Make a left, drive approximately 200 yards to a stop sign. The entrance to the Calvert Marine Museum will be directly in front of you.  Turn right and continue on Route 2/ Solomons Island Road to Williams Road. Turn left on Williams Road and follow to Waterman’s Wharf at the end of the street.

 

From Richmond
Take U.S. route 301 north into Maryland, then State Route 234 east to State Route 5, south on State Route 5 passing Leonardtown, left on State Route 4 across the Thomas Johnson Bridge (lower Patuxent River Bridge) to State Route 2 at North end of the bridge.  Once you exit on to Route 2 pass the entrance to the Calvert Marine Museum.  Continue on Route 2/ Solomons Island Road pass the Museum Entrance to Williams Road. Turn left on Williams Road and follow to Waterman’s Wharf at the end of the street.

  

 

Washington, DC: Gangplank Marina -

 

From I-395 (Virginia):
Take 1-395 North toward Washington, D.C., cross the 14th Street bridge. Exit at Maine Avenue and keep to the right which puts you on 9th Street, SW. At the traffic light, go straight through the intersection to Water Street, SW. Turn left and proceed past 7th Street to the Gangplank Parking Lot on the right.

From Route 66 (Northern Virginia):
Follow Rt. 66 across the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Follow the main roadway and you will be on Constitution Ave., NW. Follow Constitution Avenue to 9th Street, NW. Turn right on 9th Street and follow it south through the 9th Street Tunnel. Follow signs to Maine Avenue. At the traffic light, go straight through the intersection to Water Street, SW. Turn left and proceed past 7th Street to the Gangplank Parking Lot on the right.

From I-50 or New York Avenue (Annapolis, Eastern Maryland):
Follow New York Avenue into Washington, D.C. Follow signs toward Massachusetts Avenue. Before reaching Massachusetts Ave., turn left onto 7th Street, NW and take 7th Street south across the Mall. 7th Street ends at Water Street, SW. Turn left on Water Street and proceed to the Gangplank Parking Lot on the right.

From the Northwestern Half of I- 495 (Northern Virginia, Montgomery County, MD):
Take I-495 toward the Maryland/Virginia border. On the Virginia side, take the exit for the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Follow the Parkway south until you see signs for I-395 North (this is the 14th Street Bridge). Cross the river on the 14th Street Bridge, and take the Maine Avenue exit to the right which puts you on 9th Street, SW. At the traffic light, go straight through the intersection to Water Street, SW. Turn left and proceed past 7th Street to the Gangplank Parking Lot on the right.

From the Metro
Exit the Waterfront - SEU Station. Head West along Maine Avenue. Turn Left onto 6th. Look for the Gangplank Marina at 6th and Water Street
